We pride ourselves on being the neighborhood that is either like the one we grew up in or wished we had.

ONEN Sponsored Events

The Old North End Social Committee organizes and supports numerous activities each year. In addition to the regular annual ONEN-sponsored celebrations shown below, non-ONEN sponsored events independently organized by homeowners regularly take place. 

July 3rd Bike Decorating Day and 4th of July Parade  –
On July 3, the day before the neighborhood July 4 Independence Day Parade, kids and adults are again invited to the Steele School Gazebo to have fun decorating bikes (and other modes of transportation like tricycles, wagons and scooters) in preparation for the next day’s parade down Wood Avenue.
Date: July 3rd, 2021 bike decorating: 3:00-5:00 p.m at Steele School gazebo 
 July 4, 2021 parade begins at 9:00 a.m. at Boddington Park at Washington Street and Wood Avenue.                    

Musical Mondays in Monument Valley Park – Each July ONEN is a sponsor of Musical Mondays which is hosted by Friends of Monument Valley Park. These free musical events take place from 7 to 8 pm on the lawn to the west of the Fine Arts Center.  Watch for the year’s lineup on the Friends of Monument Valley Park website.

6th Annual ONENFest Neighborhood Block Party – Held in the fall, this is a block party open to all ONEN residents. It’s a great time for meeting up with neighbors you haven’t seen in a while, sharing a potluck dish, participating in the chili cookoff, playing yard games and enjoying some good music.  It’s fun for the whole family!

12th Annual Santa Visit at Steele Gazebo –  Join families at the Steele School Gazebo as kids share their wish lists with Santa. Everyone enjoys the decorations, cookies and hot chocolate, and sharing the spirit of the holidays.
Date: Sunday, December 1, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Cookies and Cocktails – The Cookies and Cocktails gathering takes place in December at a location and date to be announced in the fall.  Guests bring a half dozen cookies to share and three dozen to exchange.  Or just come and enjoy time with neighbors!

Easter Egg Hunt –After a cold winter, an often-brisk outdoor Easter Egg Hunt is just what is needed to feel like spring is right around the corner.  Celebrate with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, cookies and drinks at Steele School Gazebo.
