CC End of year activities

To our Old North End Neighbors,

Greetings from Colorado College!  The end of our spring semester at Colorado college brings a few large events we want you to know about:

  • Tomorrow, Saturday, May 9th from 2pm-10pm we will hold “Llamapalooza”, which is a large-scale outdoor music festival featuring student bands and national recording artists.  Due to the extreme wet lawn conditions, we have had to move the location to the Armstrong parking lot, which is at the south end of campus on Cache La Poudre.  The stage will be erected facing north and though you will likely hear the event, we hope the negative impact will be minimized by the fact that sound has to travel through our campus and buildings before reaching you.   CSPD Special Events staff will be on hand throughout the event to help us monitor the decibel level.  If you have any questions or concerns, we invite you to contact Worner Campus Center Desk at 719-389-6607. With feedback in mind from past years, we’ve once again shortened the event to end at 10pm.

Due to the change of location, rather than Cascade Ave. being blocked as in the past, Cache La Poudre will be blocked from Cascade Ave. to Nevada Ave. from 11am until 2am tomorrow.

Limited tickets for community members can be purchased at the Worner Center Desk for $25, and we expect our total attendance to be approximately 2,000 people.  The full lineup involves 2 student bands earlier in the day; Drunk Uncle and Funkdozer, and  5 professional bands; Netherfriends, Kithkin, Phony PPL, Mr. Mfn Exquire and headliner Moon Hooch.

  • Our commencement and Graduation Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 18th at 8:30am. This will involve a street closure that may affect your morning commute. Cascade Ave. from Cache La Poudre to Uintah will be closed from 7am-1:30pm.  You can find more information here – https://www.coloradocollege.edu/commencement/ – and if your schedule allows, you are more than welcome to join us to celebrate CC’s class of 2015.

Thank you and please contact me should you have any questions at rmason@coloradocollege.edu or 719-389-6800.

Best,

Rochelle T. Mason

Associate Dean of Students
