The Old North End is located north of Colorado College and South of Penrose hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The older homes were built from 1890 to 1920 and thus reflect the decorative Victorian building styles of the time. Adding to the opulence of the neighborhood was the discovery of gold at nearby Cripple Creek and Victor, with many of the new gold mine millionaires building large ornate mansions. As the years went by, a homeowners’ association formed to preserve the Victorian charm and produce a thriving historic neighborhood. This book traces that civic history from the 1890s to the present day.
